PEN America stands at the intersection of literature and human rights to protect free expression in the United States and worldwide.
I worked on the editorial team of PEN America: A Journal for Writers and Readers, which published a wide variety of content, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, conversation, and graphic narrative.
EDITORIAL WORK
As a member of the team, I reviewed submissions and provided editorial feedback. Additionally, I oversaw the production of three zines that featured excerpts from PEN America's translation prize winners and Prison and Justice Writing winners.
ZINE DESIGN
I spearheaded the production of three zines, curating excerpts from the PEN/Heim Translation Grant winners and the PEN Prison Writing Award winners. Using InDesign, I finessed the layout and created artful, one of a kind booklets.
